Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial music producer and singer, who mixes the soul of gospel and jazz with R&B in a signature mix. Sunshine has appeared on Broadway, at the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine's real name is Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta however, her roots lie situated in Chester Pennsylvania. There she was the first to begin pursuing an interest in music, as a singer and pianist in a church. She attended Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship in the city's R&B scene. She was named the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her singing, asked Sunshine to join the Dreamgirls show during the Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine became the focus of interest during four consecutive shows at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
